As a first step toward validation of the Gilberstadt and Duker actuarial system, one profile type, the 1-2-3-4 code, was selected and the Gilberstadt and Duker procedures were duplicated. Caution was recommended in ascribing traits t o a n individual on the basis of the actuarial system, and it was noted that there was little agreement with respect to diagnostic labels.
